PETALING JAYA - Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has announced the government’s decision to postpone the reintroduction of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) for the time being, citing concerns about the potential burden on lower-income households. This decision comes amidst ongoing discussions and economic considerations, and aims to shield vulnerable populations from increased financial strain.

Speaking at a recent event, Anwar emphasized that the government is acutely aware of the impact GST would have on all segments of society, particularly the B40 group – the bottom 40% of income earners in Malaysia.
